George Nelms
(Drums, Percussion)
Influenced by the drumming of Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, and John Bonham, George began playing snare drum in fifth grade and had formal training through his school years. But it wasn’t the school band he was really interested in. After getting his first drum kit when he was 10 years old, he formed his first rock group and has been in a band ever since. Eventually landing in San Diego, George fell into the LA original band scene with San Diego groups So Reveal, The Standard and Neon Seville (whose first album was produced by George), while also being co-owner of the now defunct recording studio, Studio Z. After this, George was the drummer in former San Diego Padre Tim Flannery’s band, playing on his Secret World CD and opening for the likes of George Thorogood, Willie Nelson and Meryl Haggard at big shows throughout the southwestern United States.
